Driven by the dissolution of his first alternative rock project, The Mantra ATSMM, Maurizio Oliviero left Naples for Paris with the idea of quitting music.
In reality, Maurizio never stopped writing new songs.
It was in 2019, while working at French Theory, that a decisive encounter with his future producer, Aurélien Armagnac, reignited his musical passion.
After years of reflection and experimentation, Maurizio Oliviero unveils his debut solo EP, "Bellavista Souvenirs", under the name Barotomara, produced by the young Parisian label French Theory Records.
This EP is a true fusion of two worlds: Italian and French intertwine, Lucio Battisti meets Serge Gainsbourg, while the bossa nova of Pino Daniele and Henri Salvador come together in subtle harmony.
The result? A melancholic indie pop, infused with dreamy and twilight atmospheres, reminiscent of artists like Calcutta and Marco Castello.
